Ankur: It would be hard to catch the ebay members, but ebay can just suspend the auctions in the question. They can investigate, if a buyer is claiming that the DVD wasn't original(doesn't matter Indian or English), then it should ring their bells.

Strange Enuf, I got an email from some Manish advertising http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q;=http://www.ho... telling me that it has lot of Adult, Indian vids etc.

First of all he spammed n on top of that doing illegal stuff (it kinda makes sense, generally spammers do illegal things)

And check this out. Its heigh of illegality. And the worse thing is that it is being listed on Froogle with other genuine products. An innocent consumer, would imagine that reputed companies like Google and Ebay must have verified the seller before listing him and would fall in the trap.

Abhi, I saw that too on Filmfare 2003 awards. I thought it was a cool way of showing how piracy has taken over bollywood. It was effective, I thought.

In India, we have toll free NASSCOM number, where we can report piracy and get awarded upto Rs 1 Lakh ;)
But really difficult to catch the Ebay sellers.

here's something i saw in an awards ceremony broadcasted on TV on new year's eve (SRK and shaif al khan (SAK) are talking):

*SRK's phone rings*
SRK: hello, kaun (some name i forgot)... kaisa hain? aacha tujhe humara program aacha lag raha hain? tujhe ending bahut aacha laga!!! lekin aabhi to aadha show hi hua hain?!
*the phone gets disconnected*
SAK: what's up?!
SRK: mera college ka dost tha, kehe raha tha ki use show ka ending bahut aacha laga hain.

*SAK looks puzzled*

SAK: lekin abhi to show khatam nahi huan!!!

SRK: kahe raha tha ki pirated CD kharid kar dekh liya hain...
